Upon first listening of Micah James you can tell the man behind the mic has a intelligence and understand of his music well beyond just songs. “Agoraphobia”, Micah’s latest project, hits at a niche in the hip-hop thats seem to have been left for dead; an conscience introspective body of work. Micah James is a perfect example of the new breed of Hip-Hop coming out of LA and solidifies his self with Agoraphobia as an artist to keep an eye on for a long time to come. Brooklyn Duo Telepathe as already created a swirling buzz to the extend that their debut release, “Dance Mother” isn’t seeing a CD release til April while a digital release has the music world clamming for more of the group. “In Your Line” is another track from the digital release which showcases Telepathe’s unique style of music mixing vintage synths, futuristic pop drums with a dash of off beat hip-hop influneces.

For those unformiliar with the work of Exile, “Radio” won’t be your typical instrumental album. Radio ,which is set for a Feburary 24th release, see Exile take an instrumental album and conceptually create an world within the sounds and samples all relaying his musical message. Trevor “Trouble” Andrew is engaged to Santogold, a Burton Snowboard team rider, and now is readying his debut release “Remixed & Remastered” on Virgin Media. Trouble’s “Crunk Rock” sound blended with Santogold’s “Shove It” produces an almost album worthy remix to the already buzzing single.

With the participants in this upcoming spring/summer Designer Invitation Project announced, Uniqlo has released previews of two of the capsule collections from Opening Ceremony, and Gilded Age. The month of march will see the menwear collection of Opening Ceromony launch under the capsule program while Gilded Age will see a May release to retail locations.

Thanks to Selectism we have our first look at the upcoming fall offerings from Swedish denim brand Denim Demon. The collection continues the Norwegian aesthetics the brand has carried over through each of their season, alone with the craftsmanship and quality Denim Demon has become known for. The fall season will see the denim brand branching out into knitwear and other casual pieces complimentary to their already superior denim.

Never one to dissapoint artist/designer/creative Kevin Lyons recently was commissioned to design the cover for the Yale University Art Gallery spring 2009 calender. In the true Kevin Lyons fashion the piece features playful charectures Lyons has been known for through his years at the helm of Stussy as well as through his work with Nike, Adidas, and Arkitip. The “In Black and Gold” artist series has been an colloaborative effort between Yale Univertisy Art Gallery and such artist as Kevin Lyons, and Parra.

The Long awaited mixtape between super dj Mick Boogie and Breakout LA group U-N-I has finally seen the light of day and is currently available for download. Being dubbed as the prequal to “A Love Supreme”, U-N-I’s debut album scheduled for release later this year, “Before There was Love” gives those who haven’t already been introduced to the phenomenal group a glimpse of the new LA. Featuring production from close friend Ro. Blvd, and the likes of Dibia$e, and 6th Sense, the mixtape also sees the duo combine with some of the west coast other up and coming artist.
